At the end of January, the beach at Le Touquet hosts the Enduropale, final round of the French Sand Racing Championship (CFS Motoblouz). Riding for hours in sand is as physical as it is mechanical. To enjoy it in good conditions, preparation starts long before the start line: gear, kit and bib jersey.

What is the Enduropale du Touquet?

Created in 1975 by Thierry Sabine, the Enduropale has become France's most famous sand race. Every winter, close to a thousand riders line up on the beach at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage for an endurance race lasting several hours, in front of tens of thousands of spectators.

In 2027, the Enduropale runs from 29 to 31 January. It is the 6th and final round of the 2026/2027 CFS Motoblouz season, after Berck-sur-Mer, Loon-Plage, Saint-Léger-de-Balson, Hossegor-Capbreton and Grayan-et-l'Hôpital.

Essential gear for riding on sand

Sand wears out the rider as much as the bike. Here is the gear to plan for:

• A helmet and several spare goggles: sand and water spray quickly reduce visibility.

• Well-fitted boots and knee braces, to absorb the ruts and footing.

• A chest or back protector, against roost and crashes.

• Comfortable gloves: on a long race, blisters come quickly.

• A hydration system, essential in an endurance event.

• Technical base layers: at the end of January, the Opal Coast is cold and damp.

The bib jersey: its role and customisation

The bib identifies each rider for timing and for the race marshals. It is specific to each round: the Le Touquet bib is not the Berck bib. Since the 2026/2027 season, its production is reserved for certified suppliers, and Impulse Racing is one of them as a certified CFS bib supplier.

We integrate the bib into the jersey by sublimation: it cannot tear or peel off, even after hours in wet sand. The rest of the jersey is yours: colours, sponsors, name.
